Welcome to my class!

Welcome to our Kindergarten Class Website. This is a great place to come and visit. We will have information posted weekly. I hope this site will be user friendly, I hope that you will visit this site with your Kindergartener. In Kindergarten we encourage our students to use and understand technology on a daily basis. If you work with your child to navigate this and other web sites it will greatly enhance their computer skills.

In addition to our weekly newsletter, we will have all kinds of information on our site. Please visit our site often and feel free to make any comments that you feel would be beneficial to our classroom.

Events and Announcements
Updated: September10, 04

This year we will be discovering many new things. We will learn letters, numbers, how to read, how to work in a group, how to work by ourselves, how to be responsible, and how to be a great Kindergarten student.

We will work on many units to help us reach our goals in every subject. Our first unit will begin next week. We will be investigating all about Farm Animals. At the beginning of the school year it is great to begin with something that most all students are familiar with. This helps them to be successful with their learning. We hope that this will help them to become a successful Kindergartener. Most children know at least a few farm animals. Later in the unit, in a few weeks, we will be visiting the Stables on base. They only have horses, but we have found this study field trip to be very beneficial to the students.

Check into this web site often. I will update it on a weekly basis. Be sure to check out the “In Depth” page to view all the latest links that I will insert from time to time to help you discover some of the things we are doing in Kindergarten.

Children need to be exposed to books and literature each day. Please read to your child each and every day.

In the Tip of the Sword-On Base Newspaper

This past week the Base newspaper wrote a story about our school. The article was about some of the children in our school. Who can tell me which of our classmates were featured in the newspaper article?

This week one of the books we read was about Penguins. It was a non-fiction book. This means that the information was real and not pretend. Do you know the author of the book? Write down the name and put it in our "Secret" box. Don't forget to put your name on the piece of paper.

I'll post the answers on the "Class Bulletin Board" page.
